The Alta Pusteria Vallery is situated in the eastern part of the self-governing province of Bolzano.

The province borders Austria and Switzerland and  easily reachable from every direction

  BY CAR

Coming from south:
The  Verona - Trento - Bolzano - Bressanone toll motorway is the fastest and most direct way. The Venice-Milan toll motorway could be an alternative but once you reach Verona , you must connect to the Brennero toll motorway; another alternative could be the highway towards Belluno, Cortina Dobbiaco and San Candido.

Coming from north:
- Brennero toll motorway - Munich - Rosenheim - Kufstein (Austrian border) - Innsbruck  Brennero Pass (Italian boerder) - Vipiteno - Bressanone. Take the Bressanone exit and follow directions towards the Punteria Valley , pass Brunico and other small towns and you reach San Candido.

Coming from east:
From east Tyrol, the Pusteria highway leads from Lienz im Osttirol through the Prato Drava border.

Coming from west:
Coming from Switzerland, you pass by  St. Moritz through the Münster Valley and through Mustair up to the only possible border cross between Switzerland and southern Tyrol, then towards Tures in the Venosta Valley and Bolzano
.

  BY TRAIN

The main railway connection for and from foreign border countries is the Brennero route (Innsbruck-Bolzano). From Switzerland , there is the route which departs from Zurich to reach Bolzano passing by Innsbruck , while from Vienna it passes through  Salzburg and Innsbruck . Coming from East Tyrol (Lienz - Silian) there are many railway routes.

The Brennero railway route which crosses the Alto Adige Valley makes a stop at “Fortezza” where you change to catch the train towards the PunteriaValley .  If you come from Venice , there is a route which reaches Calalzo di Cadore. From Calalzo di Cadore you then take a Bus which reaches San Candido.

  BY BUS

All the resorts of the Pusteria Valley are linked by bus with the resorts of the Alta Pusteria Valley.
From Trieste , there is a daily scheduled bus called “Triestina” which leaves Trieste at 0640 hrs for  Monfalcone, Udine , Tolmezzo, Sappada up to Sesto (arrival at 11.50 hrs).
